Northampton, Connecticut?
I've been ploughing into Karen Armstrong's Battle for God today and it's a very interesting book. One passage that threw me for a loop, though, was when she made reference to Jonathan Edwards preaching in "Northampton, Connecticut." Last time I checked, Northampton was in Massachusetts. I believe that was true even in Edwards' day. I checked in her notes and she seems to refer to an essay with "Northampton, Connecticut" in the title. It's a funny little detail, but it kind of breaks the veneer of infallibility of the book. I wonder what other kind of little errors might be in there.
