*sigh*
So much for starting my extra pay-down of college loans in November.
I'm getting new tires AND a wheel...ball... joint... thingy replaced. *grumble*
Usually I feel dubious when the car guys call and tell me that "These 5 million things are wrong with your car! Let us fix them $$!$!$$" However, the whole front end of my car's been doing this scary wobbly thing for a while now, so I know they're right about the wheel ball joint thingy.
As for the tires, well, October is the bi-annual tire sale for GY employees, and last winter driving scared the crap out of me so I decided some months back to invest in full on snow tires for the season anyway. The blow, in this case, is that my all seasons are shot too, so I'll need to buy new "regular" tires in the spring.
Plus points: Having two full sets will probably last me for as long as I plan on still having this car.
More plus points: Money's in the budget, so I am grateful.
More more plus points: My resolve to stick to my new "Don't waste money out the wazoo" budget is thoroughly reinforced. I haven't spent any money on food whatsoever since Sunday's grocery trip, so days 1 through 3 have gone all right. I think I am going to buy a fund raiser chocolate bar, though, because it's for a fund raiser and I have to pay for unforeseen car repairs, so I deserve chocolate.
