There are four new releases in the last week on our publisher's website. It's nice to be reassured that stuff is still happening over there. Where we are in the queue is still a mystery. And yes, Laura did ask. She also heard through the grapevine that the chief (and until recently only) editor gets something upwards of thousands of emails per day between new submissions, annoying queries from authors such as ourselves, and goodness only knows what else. I still can't fathom why they don't release some kind of general mass email saying, hey, here's the list of books we're working to get out so that you can see how far down you are. I mean, it really blows my mind. I would think that they could cut down on the amount of pestering that way.

Oh well. As with all batches of new releases, I can only hope that this means we're up next. And push through the letdown yet again when it's not us. At least I have this weekend and then Comic Con to distract me. (Comic Con, where I was to do some hardcore word-of-mouth advertising for this book, because clearly we were going to have it by then *sarcasm*).
