So much to do...

Including today (which is over 1/4 over already) I have basically 10 work days left in which to accomplish a small hill of things before year end, which will probably turn into a mountain before too long, as I understand everyone will be pushing work onto everybody else in anticipation of the coming change of the calendar. I love Christmas, but from a business perspective it is most inconveniently situated on said calendar.

I am also distracted this morning because I'm just about halfway through grav_ity's Nano novel and still pretty well sucked in. And I have a general question for the fantasy-loving flist: what the heck is it about theives in adventure and fantasy stories that makes them so romantic? I mean, we're all of the basic consensus, aren't we, that theivery is a bad thing, right? (Kate, what you may read between the lines of this brief commentary is that I find your Thief very hot, even though I'm kind of vague on how old he's supposed to be) ;-)

I got almost all my Christmas presents wrapped on Saturday night. The only exceptions are Aaron's (which I don't have yet) and Kathryn's (which is a book my mom borrowed to read before then). I also finished all my small mending jobs that have build up over the past few months, and got 2/3 of Pride and Prejudice "watched" (read: listend to) in the process of accomplishing both tasks. The presents make our shiny new Christmas tree look much less lonely. This is the first year we've ever had a family tree, so I thought I would lavish it with much love.

Finally, my car is in the shop this morning, getting new tires. I didn't want to pay the money, but after two small episodes of fish-tailing when the real snow and ice hasn't even begun yet, I wised up and remembered that a little bit longer getting my credit card paid down is a small price to pay in exchange for my life. One nice thing, the local Goodyear stores offer shuttle service back and forth to headquarters for GY employees, which is why I can get it done on a Monday. :-)
