Yesterday I was very productive at work and afterward I went to the gym, had a hard core workout and even got my hair washed. When I got home I was supposed to pack my lunch, get things ready for Tuesday (this takes all of twenty minutes, if that), write up DS9 ep recaps, relax a little while and go to bed at a decent hour.
Instead, I futzed with my TV and had a mini pout party because I couldn't watch my shows when they aired and did none of the above.
I can't seem to have two efficient days in a row. It's kind of annoying. Nobody's fault but mine, though.
Speaking of said shows, however:
I laughed my head off the whole way through How I Met Your Mother. And surprisingly, it wasn't the Barney/Robin shippy stuff, it was everything else. Lily crying over her ice cream, for example. The funniest part of the whole episode, for me, though, was Ted going to write his name on the blackboard and panicking over how to spell 'professor' (and getting some subtle assistance from one of his students: I'm kind of sekritly hoping now that she's the infamous 'mom' who is purportedly one of the students in the room - haha). Anyway, the whole sequence was just hilarious, as was him later dashing across campus to the Indiana Jones theme, hauling all his stuff because he got the wrong classroom.
I watched Big Bang before I left for work this morning (we really need to have a little workshop on patience, I think, but that's besides the point). The best part of the ep, for me, was Sheldon pouting about missing Comic Con, mostly because I'd had that thought at some point this summer: "If Sheldon and the guys are at the north pole, they're going to miss Comic Con!" Penny getting to see Star Trek before the boys was also a golden touch. The fact that she seemingly went on her own is just awesome. She's being geekified from the inside-out and doesn't even seem to mind anymore (admittedly, ST2009 was broadly acceptable, but she couldn't have been sure of that before she decided to go). Sheldon's mom continues to be a hoot. I hope Penny and Leonard just decide to date and we don't have the 'are they/aren't they?' nonsense. I don't think it fits them.
Break's over - back to work!
