A drabble an hour
Because my ongoing project is slightly mind-numbing, to keep my brain from going mushy I decided to dust off some old drabble prompts and contemplate them as I work. Then I can write and post them in 3-5 minute breaks for your Friday enjoyment.
In this drabble challenge a long time ago, knight_ander requested Zoey Bartlet with handmaidens.

Drabble - 'Not Exactly Martha Washington's Tea Party'
“Wait a minute. I’m a member of the Daughters of the Revolution. How do I not know about this?”
“You would have been recruited, Miss Bartlet, but your father’s campaign began before you were of age. Given the circumstances, your eligibility was suspended.”
“So… more bodyguards, then?”
“More than just bodyguards. This is the oldest and best-kept secret in the country, Zoey. Our agents function as protectors, experts, advisors, companions. Spies, if you need them to be.”
“Spies!?”
“I think you’ll find that a First Daughter’s role is a lot more than meets the eye. So what do you say?”
