Why? Because I HAVE NO LIFE. Has this not been established already? I go to school, I come home from school, get on lj, do my homework, get on lj, and then call people/go places. Oh, and eating is good, too, not to mention that I'm texting constantly :)
But. Haha BUTT okayi'mshuttingupbecausei'mtiredanddon'tmakesense.
Soooooo..... School is the same, basically. I had my first test in AP English 4 today, and it wasn't that bad. I was slightly worried because I've never had this particular teacher before, and I didn't know her testing style. I think I got an A though, especially since it was over Part One of 1984 by George Orwell (I love that book, but I've already read it three times D:).
Today before the test, we got into a really good discussion about how Big Brother and things like that are found on a smaller scale here in the States. It was very cool because there are only 13 kids in my class, and we all know each other well, so it was almost like we were just having an intellectual conversation for the sake of having an intellectual conversation, not because our teacher was prodding us into doing it. I mean, she even left for like 15 minutes and then came back, and we were still talking about the same thing.
Apparently, there is some video called "Loose Change" that provides evidence that 9/11 was planned by the government. CRAZY STUFF. It's like one of those things that's so insane that you don't want to believe it, but there's so much backing it up that you can't make yourself. Which is a classic example of doublethink. Anyways, that stuff ties my brain in knots if I think about it too much, so moving on.
The informational meeting for the Fall Play (which is Pillow Talk, based on the movie of the same name starring Doris Day and Rock Hudson) was on Tuesday after school, and there were seriously 35 people there, I kid you not. And so Mrs. Harrison (the director) had to come right out and say she's going to have to cut people. There are only four leads and about fifteen other parts, not including crowds and such.
Thankfully I am several things which ensure a part for me: 1) a senior, 2) one of Mrs. Harrison's "great theater people"/slaves, and 3) a Drama 3/4 student, and one of the requirements for that independent study is that you must be in the play. I heard a rumor that it's between me and my friend Ellie for the girl lead (Jan), but I don't want to get my hopes up, so I'm just really working on the audition scene. Auditions are Monday after school - wish me luck! (I need it :D)
OKAY time for some not-so-serious crap!
I started reading Love Monster because I love stupid little shoujo manga like that. (Also, Kurou is very sexy ;9). I am in love with it because it doesn't make my brain explode the way Code Geass has been since I started catching up with it. Seriously, I know I'm so late on the CG thing, but OMGZWHATTHECRAP. *tries to breathe normally* I will refrain from ranting/fangirling/WTF-ing about it. O_O
Alright, random fact time. Apparently giraffes don't have vocal cords, and this makes me very sad. I mean, I am a very garrulous person, and if I was a giraffe, I would want to "talk" to my buddies/family/etc. My friends made fun of me because I actually felt bad for the giraffes, but they're so cute and come to find out they can't even communicate with each other?! Terrible.
Another random fact: NATALIE WOOD IS MY INSPIRATION. Not because she was a great person or anything, but because she is so gorgeous and talented wow, I'm not shallow. My mom has this friend who insists that I look just like Natalie Wood (minus the really heavy eye makeup) and she always calls me Natalie. For the longest time, I hated it. But now it's like that's what I want to live up to. I have a picture of her in my locker, and every day it just... makes me want to do better. Which may sound dumb, but hey, it works for me.
Thiiiiis is the picture:
Okay, well time to shut up and go eat dinner since I slept through it today.
