Sacchan Talks About Animu

Aug 18, 2017 21:43

Long time no write. Here's a post about productivity and animus. My usual rant, basically.

My long-term holiday is proving to be very counter-productive... If that is even how you use the word.
I was planning on finishing so much shit and subbing tons of stuff but nah man apparently I ain't about that life. NHN still haunts me to this day and I'm pretty sure I won't have anything released this week. (I try to release once every week in case you haven't realized with my very off-timings)

I'm aware that it is semester break and I don't have to be productive if I don't want to, it is my holiday, after all. But the guilt that comes after a day of doing nothing is too much for me to bear. Curse you, feelings.

Also, did I ever tell you I'm the kind of person that should never mix work and hobbies together?

Whatever it is, be it gaming, watching, video-making, subtitling, once I'm faced with what is considered a "responsibility" I stop working and go the other way. Every ounce of joy that was in said activity is wringed dry and I end up not liking it anymore unless there's a considerable amount of good feedback I get from it, or I can use it to procrastinate from things I dread even more. It's the worst. I try to tough it out and stick through it recently though and I think I'm doing better.

This is why I chose medicine as my major hahahahaha. Which some people can't seem to believe. Ha.

Life is weird.

Anyways. Otaku talk.

Remember I said I finished ACCA 13-ku Kansatsu-ka a while back? When I was still smack in the middle of exams? Can I just plug this show real quick I swear it is the best. It's super slow-paced but be patient it gets better and better.

First, Nino and Jean man. The bromance and tension between them is enough reason to watch. UGH ma heart. Have I mentioned Nino's voice is hot?

Second, the suuupeEER SLOWWW unraveling of the story keeps you on the edge of your seat wtf how is it possible I don't know.

I'm not good at explaining and selling shows man and I could go on and on about Jean and Nino but it would mean spoiling it so just watch it plz man it's the best unmentioned platonic relationship ever.

The shows also about politics and governance and revolutions and all that, oops, nearly forgot to mention that.

I also finished Prince of Stride, which is a cheaper, parkour version of Free! with less bromance and fanservice.

And a Haru that can't swim...?

I'd play the heck out of the Prince of Stride otomege unfortunately I do not own a PSV. Sadface.

What else?

I finished Dimension W! Now this show started out strong for me with a samurai-ish character with weapons like Darker Than BLACK's Hei meets Shingeki no Kyojin. And the best futuristic setting. But the overall main story and ending left a lot to be desired, I just wanted so much more :(

Ooh ooh! I went to watch Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari at the cinemas a few weeks back. It's definitely not as popular as Kimi no Na wa or SAO: Ordinal Scale or the Ghibli movies that were screened. I went on the premier day and only three seats were filled, lol. It was a good thing I asked a friend of mine to watch it with me, or else I would've been alone.

It was pretty good! Light and fun with enough mindfuckery is how I'd describe it. Enjoyable. 8/10.

Lastly, I rewatched a TON of One Piece. I didn't continue watching though, just rewatched a whole lot of it. I'm terrified of catching up and having to wait for episodes, no matter what show it is.

I skipped through a lot of the episodes and watched my favorite ones. I also bawled my eyes out again on the legendary Enies Lobby "Say that you want to live!" scene, and Merry's goodbye, and Marineford, oh and that time Sabo showed up, and the Episode of Sabo... Basically I cried my eyes out that day. Twas quite the feels trip.

And you know when I say "cry" I really do mean cry, not the internet term "i'm crying" cry like the "LOL" without laughing IRL. I legit cry real tears even when I've already watched the episodes. People never seem to believe me, haha. They're all like, "Isn't One Piece a shounen fighting anime thing? What why?"

*shrug*

Oh but yesterday I watched like three or four filler episodes after the Dressrosa arc, where they introduced Gran Tesoro for Film Gold. It bothered the HECK out of me that the movie's timeline doesn't make sense anywhere ugh. I never thought about it with Strong World and Film Z but ugh ugh ugh.

Also also alsoooo. I didn't know actors and actresses like Mitsushima Hikari, Nanao, Oguri Shun, etc etc voiced characters from the movie, haha. Even Korokke-san did voices. Mind. Blown.

Oh last thing after I said "lastly", apparently I lied to myself thinking I've finished watching Gangsta two years ago when I actually haven't???? I totally ranted about it and thought I finished but nnnNAAAHHH. I haven't.

Haaaaaaaa well that was quite some messy word-regurgitation. I'm very content.

See you when I do.
