This is my response to the tag by The Awesome Orr. These are the top 5 songs I have of late...but I must say, picking 5 songs is like...picking a favorite child or something, so appreciate it!!!!!

Also...These are in no particular order.

1. Rufus Wainwright: "Go Or Go Ahead"...This song is... lovely. He uses the most ideal images that make you just hurt inside..."But, oh Medusa, kiss me and crucify/ This unholy notion of the mythic power of love/ Look in her eyes, look in her eyes/ Forget about the ones that are crying/ Go or go ahead..." When he sings, "What has happened to love?" You really wonder and you follow everywhere he takes you. I could rave for hours about this man.

2. Coldplay: "Fix You"...this song makes me cry. It is so amazingly heartfelt. The song is about him watching the suffering of the person he loves the most, and it is such a huge amount of suffering that he doesn't even know what to do, but he promises to try to fix it. The song expresses sadness and hope in equal measures. The first time I heard it, I thought it was a lovely song. The second time I heard it, and I realized how perfectly put together the music and lyrics were, I thought my heart was going to explode. The best part of the song is after the break. GORGEOUS. "Tears stream down your face/ When you lose something you cannot replace/ Tears stream down your face/ And I.../ Tears stream down your face/ I promise you I will work for my mistakes/ Tears stream down your face/ And I..."

3. Magnet & Gemma Hayes: "Lay Lady Lay"...I like this version much better than Dylan's for several reasons 1) It is quirkier, 2) The guy singer's voice is hot, 3) Gemma's voice is lovely, 4) You can actually understand what they're singing. Anyway, this song is just really cute and I could listen to it a lot right now. "Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile/ Why wait any longer for the world to begin/ You can have your cake and eat it too/ Why wait any longer for the one you love/ When he’s standing in front of you..."

4.Tegan and Sara: "Where Does the Good Go?"...I wish all their songs sounded just like this, because this song is so freaking catchy! I don't have much to say about it, except for that some people get this song and others don't. I love it. Here's my favorite part: "Look me in the eye and tell me you don't find me attractive/ Look me in the heart and tell me you won't go/ Look me in the eye and promise no love's like our love/ Look me in the heart and unbreak broken/ It won't happen..."

5. Keren Ann: " Les rivières de janvier"... This song is from the mix Chandler made me. The first time I heard it, it was on a Friday afternoon and we were just laying on my bed, and I felt exactly the way this song sounds. It is calming and charming and I adore it, along with the rest of the mix, which in my opinion is the best mix ever made. EVER. This song represents the entire mix to me. "Restons ici/ Le soleil est moins pâle/ Le vent moins sidéral/ L'eau est bleue/ Bleu turquoise/ Tu vas mieux/ D'ici on voit couler/ Les rivières de janvier/ Restons ici..."

To tag...hmm: Amanda (if she reads this), Wendy, Amy, Erica, Erin Schultz, Hannah Schultz, Cathy Dwyer
