I hate the way that my dad and my dad's side of the family can make me feel completely worthless, just because I don't believe the same things that they do.
They completely discount me just because I don't rely on the things the government tells us. Or that I listen to other sources. Or that I don't hold the Bible to be the authority in all things because it's a BOOK, written by PEOPLE. I mean, how original is that?
And they invited me over for dinner, and I didn't go because I didn't want them to tell me how wrong I was for voting against proposition 2, and then get all pompous about the majority of people, and how this proves that my dad's opinion is right.
The problem with the majority and all that is that they aren't always right. Why does my dad not see this?
Is there a book I could hit him up the side of his head with that could make him see a modicrum of sense? Or maybe I could just hit him with my Seperation of Church and State textbooks. That would be awesome. and ironic.
Love Always,
Caitlin
