Public Service Announcement

Jul 13, 2007 21:23

Hello! I'm Sabrina Pandora, and today I'm here to talk to the guys out there who are shy and like to look.

Yeah you, over there, with the furtive glances. And you, the guy who just stares until eye contact is made, then keep staring blank faced. Or you, the guy who cruises by once and notices, then cruises by three more times in the space of five minutes.

Now, I'm aware that I'm rather, er, striking. And I have it on pretty good authority that I have great legs, which I showcase in a variety of short skirts. And being something of an unusual commodity, as it were, I expect that sometimes you just have to take a good long look because you just aren't sure. I'm kinda the queen of "Is she or isn't she?"

But while I expect a certain amount of attention, most of which I ignore, there's a difference between being curious or displaying interest and just being creepy.

The guy who looks away every time you look up? That could be shy and sweet, but really, it just gets annoying. Staring with a blank face just makes you look like a robot, and that makes you seem like a social deviant, possibly a serial killer. Wandering by repeatedly and looking more than twice is stalker behavior.

Here's a tip guys. Eye contact. That's a first. That actually makes us think that you are interested in us as human beings instead of the sum of our parts or what you might be imaging us doing inside your lecherous little minds. After that, try a smile. Not a lecherous grin, not a smirk, but a genuine smile. This confirms interest and expresses that you find us pleasing to the eye. And last but not least, try walking up and talking to us. Funniest damn thing, we can talk! Make conversation even! We are, in point of fact, not just a support and transportation system for tits and ass. Treat us as people and lo and behold, we might just treat you like one too.

So there's your advice for today boys. I know a little thing or two about girlwatching. And these days I am getting to know a lot about being watched. So take my word for it... there's a right way and a wrong way, and you don't want to be one of the ones who does it wrong.

Even if you're shy and like to look.

I'm Sabrina Pandora, and this has been a public service announcement. Anyone who wants to turn this into an after-school special or "One to grow on" can feel free to contact my agent. And we now return you to your regularly schedules LJ, already in progress.
