It burned where it touched him, and he closed the cuff tighter around his wrist to enhance the pain. He had considered following Caleb’s lead and getting silver nipple rings but he knew Anita wouldn’t handle that well. He shivered as the fire pulsed steady in his forearm. He would never be able to convince her that the pain reminded him that he was alive in a way that pleasure never could. But she had bought him the cuff. The highest grade of silver on the market. She may not have understood but she still wanted to make him happy.
