Still not much exciting going on. I feel the need for an adventure, a vacation to some place I have never been before. It will probably be a while before we can do that though. We haven't been on a real vacation since Japan last year. I think both of us have decided we really want to go to Seattle, but it is so expensive... with all the house stuff I am not sure we will want to spend that much money on a vacation any time soon. We might head up to DC and check out some museums and monuments. Or maybe New York. I dunno. I just need to get out of town for a while!!

I have decided I am tired of being covered in bug bites. And today I got a tick to add to the mix. Yay. Hadn't had one of those in nearly 20 years. Oh well, maybe I will soon get a break from all this yard stuff. We picked up the garden edgers today, and only came up short in our guesstimate by one or two stones. Just adds to my belief that no project can be done with less than two trips to Lowes. So tomorrow I will finish that up, and maybe even have time to clean my car afterwards. Next we will tackle the sod portion of this project.. which will be more work than it sounds like. So maybe one more weekend of this and then the backyard will be acceptable again. Yay!!! Then it will be time to work on the front beds :( At least that should be a hell of a lot easier. Or maybe I will just ignore the yard for a while and try to focus on inside stuff.

The only other thing really going on right now besides work, yard work, house work, and the gym is that I have decided I want a bike. I have wanted one for years, and every time I start thinking about it again I find a way of talking myself out of it. This time though I decided I would go for it. It is a form of excercise I might actually do. The gym is great when we have the trainer, but the rest of the time it is hard to make myself go. I hate cardio. Walking/running in the same place for an hour is boring and feels like a waste of energy. An hour on a bike, even in the summer, sounds much more fun. And if I ride in Umstead, much more challenging and even more fun... if I don't kill myself doing it. I test rode a bike yesterday and took it on a little trail they had at the bike shop... I forgot how much fun that can be. I had a mountain bike as a kid and would make the most out of that little park on Elm street that I could, and rode that bike everywhere until I got a car. I miss that. So, I decided this would be a good birthday present! I am going to spend a couple weeks looking for the right bike... then will try to be patient, or will try convincing Sean to give me an early present. There seems to be lots of great places to ride around here, and I look forward to it.
