Procrastination at its finest

It's been a while.  I usually don't post religiously on these types of things, so it's really a hit or miss when I update.

Anyways, I'm avoiding working on a six page paper for my Art of Prehistory class and a ten page paper for my Honors class.  I'm super nervous/excited for tomorrow: I'm going to the first Jersey Surf camp!   I can't believe I'm finally going to join a drum corp!  (the last year I can before I age out, but I guess that's better than nothing right?!)  I'll spare everyone the annoying, bitchy details about how my father didn't want me to do it and got mad and blablabla...I'm tired of telling the story anyway.  The result now is that I'm driving both my parents up to New Jersey for the first time in my life with confusedly written down directions that I got from my friend Chris (a mellophone who's marching Surf too) on my cellphone, which had really crappy signal at the time...I'm praying that I dont end up in Montana.

Update on the Harry Potter marathon: ok, so I got about halfway through the fourth one, and then classes started, and I took up a teching position with the Tuscarora marching band, which ate up most of my time.  And then I realized that the Golden Compass is coming out soon, and it's been over six months since I read it last (I love this book a lot).  So I got distracted by that.  But that's ok, I'll get through the series again eventually.  It really wasn't a top priority anyway.

I've also started seeing the school's counselor...oh, did I mention my grandmother passed away about a month ago?  Yeah, I'm still kind of in denial about it, which is one of the biggest reasons I'm seeing the counselor in the first place.  Anyway, she's a really nice lady, and I feel a lot better after having spoken with her.  And she didn't try and pump me full of anti anxiety meds...she might once she realizes the extent of my various neuroses, but so far so good!  I like to think of my nearly-obsessive tendencies as personality quirks...

That's about it for now I guess.  Indoor guard season is going to start soon, and my govt. job will start up again as well, once classes officially end...and there's another Surf camp the weekend of finals....I might die before I can post another one of these :).
