SabreCat:
I rather enjoy doing these little reviews of games and such, so I'm going to make a "column" out of it. I'll call it "Late to the Party," because the vast majority of stuff I write about on here is months or years old. And the tagline and LJ-cuts will alert the uninterested to skip it without any extra effort, heh.

PSP: Jeanne D'Arc )
I gotta try Elebits. I was going to go the "wait for sister to bring it home from blockbuster" route, but they never got a copy and she doesn't work there anymore, so now we have to pay for rentals. Someday!
You have a PSP now? Did I miss (or forget) something? (Slim or fat?) Anyway, the Joan of Arc game is fun, but I'm not quite done yet. (Now I wish I had kept the poster from PAX. But posters are a pain on a plane! It had to be left!) I actually got a trivia night question right due to the game. Well, not really from the game, but because of the game. I knew the game was clearly an insane version of history, but was more accurate than it needed to be due to it's established crazyness. So I looked it to it to see what aspects were somewhat, vaguely, almost grounded in history. The result was I knew an answer about Joan of Arc. Go me!
Do you Smash? I'm expecting Smash Bros. when I get home. I really really hope my machine doesn't have trouble reading it, because that would just be heartbreak to wait a few more weeks for repair. Can't wait for story mode. I heard it's crazy!
Hey, you know how I'm always like, "Man, do I have a game for you!"? I'm going to do it again. Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer! That's the game for you! It is, as claimed a Mysterious Dungeon game, that is, a random dungeon crawl. Oh, but this isn't a weaksause version like the Pokemon one or Inzua. No, if you fall you lose everything. Your phat loot, your levels, stats, the works. Harsh! However, you can bank a limited amount of items in your (small) warehouse, and a couple of small cashes along the mountain trail. Oh and progress you make with the NPCs sticks too. Like if you help someone out, they will remember after you get sent back to the start and still offer the unlocked service. And you can call for an online rescue if you die. (It's fun and profitable to save people!) It's pretty addicting! Anyway, I'd thought it would be your cup of tea due to the toughness of it, and the harsh concequences for failure. Bet it's weaksause compared to Nethack, though. Game Set Watch's rougelike section had a bit on it for several weeks. Also, I got turned into a riceball and then was killed. (And eaten I wager.) The deaths are always amusing to describe!

I do have a PSP! I didn't make a big deal of it, but yeah, I bought a phat off a friend for $50, ha.

I just got Smash, aye! And it is truly an excellent piece of work. (I mean to write a post about that and other first-impressions soon.) My Brawl friend code is 2707-1277-4067. Post yours when you find it out!

Hehe! I saw it talked up on DSFanboy, so I picked up a copy around the same time I got Brawl. Dunno when I'll get around to it, though, as Brawl is pretty engrossing...

-I got mine used for $100 and the library is good enough now that that's a steal. If you got yours for $50 it is well worth it. Hey, is your memory stick of a large enough size for demos? I just got Patapon, and I think it's pretty rad, esp. for the cheap price. But I hear it's hit or miss for people. But you should try the downloadable demo to see if it is your cup of tea. Plus if you go for the full game later you get a bonus weapon for the demo clear save.
Neat! What was the trivia question?
- It was something like "Who was executed for the charge of crossdressing?" I thought "That sounds like some royal BS there. Total trumped up charges. Must be some sort of Kangaroo court... Ah! Joan of Arc!" So I got to totaly "Wow" the team on that one. Hurrah for Wikipedia!

-After a few hour detour for a microfiction reading (I wrote a 25 word story about Mysterious Dungeon for a contest there. It was pretty bad!)and brats and cider, I got to try Brawl in my Wii. I put the game in with care, and this job's a success! My Wii did not go all DRE on me. AND LONG MAY IT STAY THAT WAY! Bit of a load between menus, but I think I'm just being uber paranoid due to the tales of the Smash ring of Smash. I haven't touched Subspace Emesary yet. My brother comes home this weekend for his birthday and I thought we could two player it a bit and see some sweet cutscenes. I'm really excited about that. I am of the opinion that Smash Brothers is just a child's fantasy with his toys. (Hence the trophys and Master Hand.) The story mode in the last game had some fun set ups, (Escape from Zebes!) but no real plot. It was like watching a child play with the toys. But the game intro has me excited because it now looks like I can actually see the crazy story the kid thought up! Who knows what awesome insantity it will bring! (I just hope everyone gets a different storyline.)I'm quite excited for Snake as he's one of the few characters who I could see talking, and I want to hear what he has to say. Anyway, on my very short game impressions so far: the only new fighter I tried was pokemon trainer. I like him. I didn't try the Wiimote control yet. I like how the prize windows give you a hint of what you need to unlock stuff. (Gonna save my hammer for something hard) Couldn't get any matchups for a random match but I could spectate. I unlocked Captain Falcon and blue Fire Emblem guy without even trying. I know characters will unlock in Story mode, but my brother thinks it would be better to get them traditionaly. But that can't be helped, we are going co-op on Fri! Huzzah!

-I'm surprised at how engrossing that 'ol Wanderer is! One would think it would be frustrating. But the dungeon is paced with diffrent environments and stuff so it doesn't feel like you have been in a dungeon for levels and levels. Very fun, but I haven't bothered with crafting any crazy +50 swords yet. That would get frustrating to lose that! I love doing rescues! Great loot and an easy way to get it back to the warehouse. It's kind of an arcade game, you can send your high scores to the server. I was actually in the top hundered for the last few days, but I bet I'm bumped off by now. I'll get better! In soviet russia, game levels you!
-Friend codes! I'm at work, but when I get home i'll fetch you my smash code and my Wanderer code. For smashing and rescues.

Oh, and I overlooked the question about the StarTropics letter. It's rather silly, actually. The letter is included in the "operating manual" Home-button dealy, and there's a little bucket of water icon you click on that shows a little animation of dunking paper in it and the needed numbers appearing. I did it by accident even before I got to the point in the game where it was needed. :P

That is very cute with the Startropics letter. I would have figured they would just tell you the code. So cute!
