blah......
So I have not posted in a while.....I've been too busy and had too much on my mind.......Well I should take down that last post, b/c my mother never came home from the hospital. She's been in since the week before Thanksgiving. She had surgery on Wednesday, they removed the 2 titanium rods and cages from her spine, b/c they are 99% sure that is what caused the infection. So hopefully she will be home next week. I really just want her home for Christmas, that would be the greatest gift of all. I was not able to see her on Thanksgiving, going to the hospital was WAY too hard especially after what happened with my uncle last year.
Practicum has kept me really busy, and extremely exhausted. I am at Southern Elementary School, its the newest school in Colonial, right next to Gunning Bedford Middle School. I am teaching 1,2,3 grade Special Education. Its very taxing. There are 9 kids in the room, and 3 are severe behavior issues, I've been kicked, hit, almost bit and spit at. Not exactly what I had in mind. Thank God I am not a Special Ed major. I would literally come home after being at school all day and sleep for 3-4 hours. I have also been working on my practicum journal. All 75 pages of it. Thank god this will be the bulk of my portfolio for when I am a student teacher. I just have one more practicum to take for this, except for my Environmental Education practicum. Next semester should not be that bad. I do have 2 night classes though, b/c most of my 300 and 400 level courses don't start til like 3pm. None of them interfere with WHS rehearsal though, which is a good thing.
Speaking of that, our first rehearsal is Tuesday. I went to Triton and got the other half of our floor with my dad and Adon the other night. Then the 3 of us went out to dinner. I have not been out to dinner with my father in a long time. It was interesting, we actually talked, it wasn't silent.
I guess this is all for now....I have to work 10-2 tomorrow, so time for bed.....I'll try and update more often.
