Omigah. I'm soooooooooooo tired. But of course, I'm here finally updating again instead of trying to sleep. ;)
The first thing I have to say is OMFG CLAY'S TOURING IN TEXAS!!! Houston 7/6/07 (the FIRST SHOW!!!) and Grand Prairie 7/7/07. I can't believe it, we've all been waiting so long for him to come far south again, and he finally has! I've already got tickets to Houston, though I had to ditch class all morning and dial through the busy signals on the phone for an hour straight, then stay on hold for 20 minutes. :p Yeah, I'd like to talk to the genius that put the presale for Clay Aiken's first concert date on the PHONE. But whatever, Morgan and I got 11th row tickets and we're road tripping like WHOA, as are like, 30 other Clayfans from Oklahoma, so I know we're all going to have a blast. ^_^ I hope he goes to another venue around the area so we can go to that one too. "An Evening With Clay Aiken" sounds so hot, I'm hoping he'll sing "Lover All Alone" as well as... Everything else, I guess. He always sounds so great.
So, I've finally finished with everything else I've had to do again, there have been so many events to work. A bunch of us had an entertainment conference today, where several people in the entertainment industry came to talk to us and give us tips, stuff like that. None of us were really excited about getting up at 6 am on a Saturday morning, but it ended up being pretty cool. Jodi Shilling talked about working at Disney and having some gigs with Steve Carell and Steven Colbert, which made me SO jealous. Afterwards, several people talked about casting and management, but Kyle also came back and showed us how he chooses people for Target/Old Navy/tons of other stuff commercials in New York.
Still, (to me), the best part was Cort Casady, who has won tons of Emmys AND worked on "A Clay Aiken Christmas"! How awesome is that? I talked to him about it after the conference was over, and he basically told me that Clay was a lot different than he expected, he was a great vocalist and host, really clear, real, down to earth, and focused on his dedication to BAF and stuff. I was really impressed to hear that, because that's the kind of stuff that comes to my mind when I think about the Aiken, and it was cool to know that people that work with him respect him for those same reasons. I gave my business card and info out to a lot of people, so it's nice to know that if we're in NY or LA or something and need a gig, we can pull one off.
Now I need to sleep, but I'll probably end up watching the rerun of Rainn Wilson on SNL because he's too awesome.
