Meet the new man in my life, C'Lestial Red Storm Rising of Ryhka - aka, Tsunami. He's a Borzoi [Russian Wolfhound] from C'Lestial Borzoi in Paint Lick, Kentucky. My hopes & dreams for him are to finish his Championship in the showring, FCh him in AKC lure coursing, and then have him therapy dog certified.

I'm super excited - despite a new job, new town, new house, wedding planning - I'm most excited about my new dog :) He's going to make it much easier to sleep at night.

Nothing is set in stone about him yet, but I've got a working relationship with the breeder right now, and he's on hold for me until at least mid September - by then I will know for certain what direction all of these things are going to take. He was in the picture before even the house was - the apartments I've looked at are all 'less than 100lbs, non-aggressive' dog friendly. He obviously fits those bills.

From what I can tell, he's put together rather nice, his only AKC fault is he lacks full detention - born without 3 premolars. But unless the judge is a tooth-counting tooth fairy, not much to worry about there.

He's one year old, housebroken, crate trained and microchipped. He comes with a full-limetime health guarantee from the breeder against genetic defect and bloat. He currently stands thirty-one inches tall, but the breeder feels certain he will finish at a solid thirty-two, since his growth plates haven't closed yet. He's kitty and doggy friendly, a very laid back "live and let live" type of dog, but she says he's not shy or submissive.

I know I'm changing a lot of things at once, and I've heeded caution carefully from several entities - I sound more careless about ALL of it than I actually am. I'm covering all of my bases, I promise :)

So there you have it. I was kind of keeping him on the downlow, because I'm trying not to get overly attached to a dog over the internet that I may not even be able to keep - but some of my Borzoi friends outed me last entry :) Couldn't sneak this new icon in without raising a few eyebrows eh? He is gorgeous :)
