We all seek recognition.
We all need people to confirm that we exist, that the actions that we perform are meaningful.
'life' could well be the sub-conscious thought that what we are currently doing will, in the tiniest aspect, be recognised throughout eternity; from one person to the next. Being that 'life' is in the eyes of the beholder, it's all a mindset.
the feeling of lack of recognition results in helplessness, depression - lack of identity, lack of self.
When someone knows a person well, is loved by all, they are always full of life as they believe that their influence is passing through many people the more they are noticed. Their 'life force' is great.
What would it be like to not care, even on a subconscious scale, what people think of yourself?
How can you define yourself without a reference from other people defining you, through their reactions.
Only other people define you for who you essentially are, there is no starting template.
