Selfish Kindness

Jul 23, 2009 00:40

People who go out of their way to be kind to others most of the time are rewarded for their efforts by a smile and surprised thankyou.

People like this find it frustrating when their kindness is ignored, although surprising when it happens as the instinctive human reaction is to be pleased with help/gifts - the opposite can still occur.

True selflessness is to know that the good you do will never be credited, never boasted, never known to anyone.

Otherwise no matter how kind you are, you are still doing it to gain something; even with charity there is selfishness and ego. With ego there is power. With power there is corruption. (with corruption there is eevvviill)
