One Week of Rose - Day 5 - Meta (5 Headcanons)
Starting to fall a bit behind on this, I'm so sorry. After today I'll start posting better stuff.

day 5 - 5 headcanons
1. Rose had a brother.
Sometimes I accidentally try to put this in fics and meta when I remember that he doesn’t actually exist xD But… I’ve always thought this of Rose because she just seems to get Damon so well, and I feel like she would know what it felt like to be constantly upstaged by her brother, and/or what it felt like to have a sibling.

2. She was never married.
She was engaged when she was young, but her fiancé died during a hunt before they could get married, and that was the end of that. It was an arranged marriage, she never loved him anyways.
3. She was in love with Elijah.
Or had a crush on him, whatever. No particular reason for this one except I like them together but I feel like Elijah would’ve just brushed her off because his brain probably ran constantly on “KATERINA KATERINA KATERINA” and I feel bad :c Poor Rose. BUT ANGST IS GREAT. And again, unrequited love, so again she’s pretty much just an older, female version of Damon (which, she was supposed to be anyways, I just like to add more facets to it).
4. When Damon stalked off angrily in 2x21, he visited Rose’s grave
He knew dealing with the bite was going to be difficult, and he needed to know someone had faced it, too, even if she was dead. He was still so guilty that he hadn’t found a cure and he just needed to be closer to her. He’s the only one who knows where she’s buried.
5. Damon doesn’t always dream, but when he does, he dreams of Rose. see whut i did there lol
She’s become sort of the face of his conscience. When he’s upset, when he misses his brother or has trouble keeping away from Elena or when he just doesn’t know what to do, Rose is there. She doesn’t always give the best advice, but it doesn’t matter to him. Just her being there, even if she isn’t really real, is enough.
