Lack of Sleep Makes Me...
Ugh...so I haven't slept well since last Wednesday. I seem to average 5-6 hours of fitful sleep per day. I know part of it is because it's getting so close to Christmas, but this week, I really need the sleep. I have to travel on Friday, and driving with little sleep is not always a good idea. I've done it, but never after working 8 hours overnight. Yes, unfortunately for me, I have to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Boo!
So, before Wednesday, I have to get the oil changed on the car and the tires rotated. I also have to find a time to pick up my last gift. I hate waiting so long, but the weather has been atrocious here (read as blizzard-type wind speeds = whiteouts). I also have to wrap presents. Hmm...I'll do that after I update this.
Anyway, I'm travelling on Friday because a friend of mine is getting married on Saturday, and I'm in the wedding party. I'm super excited, and what adds to this excitement is that I get to see Barry after not seeing him since October. I'm trying to talk him into moving up here ASAP...like right after New Years. I'm in a musical, and the director really needs more men. I guess not enough tried out in the first place. We're doing Annie Get Your Gun, and I play Winnie Tate. The director would like Barry to play my character's husband. ^_^ That should be fun and as she put it, "Very cute."
Since I have been sleeping so poorly, it makes my search for a day position that much more pressing. I've been waiting for one to open up at the house I'm working in, but I don't think I want to wait much longer for one there. The next one that would open anyway would be an RC position that would require me to work 3PM-11PM, 7PM-9AM (I get to sleep during this shift), or 11PM-7AM (Stay awake). I could do the overnights, but I would have to come in after rehearsal. 3-11 would be completely out, and I could do the 11-7, but I would rather not. Those shifts are usually required on the weekends when the regular awake overnight person isn't there. I would rather not do 11-7 all together. I hope I can find one within another unit within TSI, but I might have to wait awhile. *sighs* There is one available now, but I can't take it because I don't know how flexible the supervisor will be with me. Besides, I'll be more open in February when the show ends. So, this makes me wonder if I should just go for a day job somewhere else. A place that will allow me to work 9-5 or 8-4. That way, I can sleep normally like everyone else and still do theatre and school in the evenings. I do like the people I work with, but these odd hours are really taking their toll on me.
I've started a fanfiction for Vampire Knight! ^_^ YAY! We'll see how it goes. So far, I have a great deal of ideas, and I think this is going to be, hopefully, an interesting and entertaining story.
Well, I should wrap my presents! ^_^ I can't wait for Christmas!
