oakland riots
this happened last night.
i have very mixed feelings about this. i am grateful that i will never understand the amount of rage that grows in a community that has endured violent oppression at the hands of the police for so long.
i could see all the police helicopters circling outside my window last night. and they are still up there this morning. there are riot cops on every corner. but the streets are now strangely quiet.
i only hope there is room for some accountability and reconciliation.
