Shou's POV

~~

After only a little fuss, we're on our way again.

The 'fuss' being Miyavi wanting to join us.

Meaning, we need another horse.

The animal the guys finally manage to find is a bit sad looking.

Causing Miyavi to 'coo' and cuddle the poor thing.

Which makes me wonder if our newest addition isn't just a bit 'off'.

Catching me staring, he smiles.

"He just needs someone to pay attention to him.  You'll see.  He'll perk right up in no time."

I smile back at him, nodding.

Sure, that's all any of us really need, isn't it?

Another half-day or so in the saddle finds us at a crossroad.

The one that could take us to Saga.

Carefully handing the mirror to Reita, I watch.

Reita walks over to where Nao's waiting.

He shows Saga the crossroad, paying special attention to the way Nao points out.

That's supposed to lead to the manor house where the young man's being held.

But then Reita's showing Saga the other two directions.

I finally walk over, worried.

"What's wrong?"

Nao points to his road again, "This is the way the villager said to take.  But Saga says he never went this way."

Reita points down a different road, "He says he went that way."

"So, we go that way, too." I say, sure of only one thing.

The need to save Saga.

"But what about the other way? Shouldn't we at least check?" Nao gives me a strange look.

"After we save Saga we can do all the looking you want," I tell him.

"I've got an idea," Kai says, joining the conversation. "Why don't we split up? That way we can check both directions.  Reita, take Shou that way," he says, pointing the way Saga said.

Reita quirks an eyebrow at Nao.

"Which way are you going?"

"You know I don't like leaving you alone.  Especially out here," Nao answers, motioning to our surroundings.

"He won't be alone," Ruki says, moving even closer to Reita. "He'll be with me and Shou."

"Since it's my idea," Kai butts in "I'll take the other way.  Aoi'll join me."

"I'll go whichever way you want," Hiroto says shyly, looking at Nao.

"What about you?" Ruki asks Miyavi.

"Magic could prove useful.  It'd be better if you and I went different ways.  But I'd hate for those two to split up," he motions towards Nao and Hiroto as he says the last.  "So why don't you two go along with your Prince?"

I look at the way that splits us.

It hardly seems fair.

There'll be five of us going Saga's way.

With only three taking the other road.

"Don't worry, you'll probably need more help than we will," Aoi says, standing next to his brother.

I wonder if that's true.

The story their going to be checking out is pretty vague.

All the villager knows is that the young man can't leave.

He couldn't say why.

A few minutes later, we're saying goodbye to the others.

I watch as the two brothers ride away.

"Ready?" Reita asks rwalking his horse up next to mine.

"I guess."

"Aoi's right.  There's no need to worry.  He and Kai work well together."

"Very well, actually," Nao adds. "And despite the teasing, they are more than capable at handling trouble."

"I hope so.  Or better yet I hope there isn't any trouble."

"For us either," Reita says, giving my shoulder a pat before helping me back up on the horse.

And then we're off as well.

Heading down the same road Saga had.

Neither Reita or Nao think it'll be much longer before we find the house.

I hope they're right and it's just on the other side of these woods.

~~

That night as we make camp, I'm surprised by how light the mood is.

I thought for sure we'd all be missing the others.

I do miss them.

But I'm also excited.

We're one more day closer to finding Saga.

"Tomorrow could be the day," Hiroto says, smiling brightly at me.

I nod, smiling back.

Trying not to get my hopes too high.

"Any thoughts on how we're going to go about his?" I hear Nao ask Reita.

"Not really.  I'm hoping it's as easy as just showing Saga his body."

"That'd be too easy," Ruki says sitting next to Reita. "Unless this particular bad guy isn't very creative there'll be some kinda twist."

"You mean like some sort of riddle?" I ask, hoping that with the diverse backgrounds of the others we'll be able to solve anything.

"Yeah. Or if this guy has some kind of quirk, it could be related to that."

With all the questions floating around inside my head, I'm a bit surprised when I find myself in another dream.

I'm in what looks like a kitchen.

I look around, trying to find anything out of the ordinary.

Something that might clue me in to what we'll need to free Saga from the mirror.

I turn at a sound from the doorway.

Now I'm even more sure that this is Tora.

He walks into the room.

Stopping at the sink to fill a glass with water.

As he drinks I marvel at his markings.

He's covered in fur.

At least what I can see of him is.

And the fur is striped, like that of a tiger.

A very large tiger that walks like a man.

He sets the glass back on the sink, scanning the room with narrowed eyes.

Like a flash, he's gone.

I try to run after him.

But he has the advantage of knowing where he's heading.

When I finally catch up to him, he's facing the cloaked man again.

The one that seems to be responsible for all of this.

My vision seems to blur, as Tora shifts.

Instead of a man standing between us, there's now an animal.

Tora has shifted back into the form of a tiger.

Growling deep in his throat as the inturder steps closer.

"Poor Tiger," he says, pulling the hood closer to his face. "You don't seem pleased to see me. Haven't you been enjoying my hospitality?"

I see Tora gather himself for a leap.

"Ah-ah-ah.  You don't want to do that, my furry friend.  I might be tempted to do something unpleasant to our sleeping friend."

It seems to be a good threat, as Tora takes a step back.

"Let's just make sure all is well, and then I'll leave you to your pacing."

They both turn towards a door I hadn't even noticed.

I follow them thru it.

The two are standing next to the bed.

The cloaked man moving his hands above a figure lying there.

Tora's watching him carefully.

After a moment, he moves away.

Turning back to Tora, who's reverted to that semi-human state.

"He's still fine. But for how much longer, I wonder?" and even I can hear the pleasure this man is taking in Tora's pain.

Tora wathces him leave.

And I turn to look at the bed.

I'm not surprised to see Saga lying there.

Stepping closer, I can see he's breathing.

If I didn't know better, I'd only think he was sleeping.

I sit up, reaching for the tablet.

It's not quite dawn.

As I set it aside, I look over, expecting to see Reita already awake.

I am surprised to see Nao is awake as well.

"Bad one?" the prince asks rising to come sit near me.

I nod, handing him the tablet.

Not wanting to say aloud what I'm thinking.

Or how I'm feeling.

After he finishes, he hands it to Nao.

The other man quickly reads the words.

He looks up at me insurprise.

"This is what you saw?"

I nod.

He turns back to my last entry.

Reading it as well.

I can't read his expressions.

He stops, looking back at Reits.

"Do you want to be there when this man is?"

Reita shrugs, "Maybe. If we can 'persueade' him into lifting both curses, things will be much easier for us."

"You want to try reasoning with this guy?"

And I have to agree with Nao on this one.

I'd rather avoid him if possible.

"If Shou's visions are coming as the events actually happen, then there's a good chance we'll miss him anyway."

"You expect to find this place that soon?" I ask surprised.

Both men nod.

"Wake the others.  We'll get started as soon as everyone's ready."

Reita rolls his eyes. "You're gonna have us eat while riding aren't you?"

"Aren't we in a hurry?" Nao tosses back.

And as uncomfortable as it sounds, I'm willing to do it.

"We need to find them as soon as possible," I answer for him.

Moving away, I go to wake Ruki and Hiroto.

A/N: Sorry for the delay in updating...I've been kinda sick this week and haven't felt like sitting at the PC much.

Yes, you read that right. This is the end of Shou White...which means it's time to start the next fic.  Actually it'll be 2-at-once.  Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. The two Beauty's being Saga (duh!) and Uruha.  And to avoid further confusion..Saga's the sleeping one (see Shou's last dream) & Tora is NOT the Beast. The Beast is a villain *snickers* sorta.  You'll see. I hope you all think it's as funny as I do. So...Aoi, Kai and Miyavi are off to meet Uruha and his 'villain'. While the others get closer to saving Saga and Tora. Which puts me in a bit of a dilema.  What am I gonna do with Shou, Saga & Tora? Can they end up a happy 3-some? Or is someone gonna get left out? T_T
That makes me sad....but I'm still not sure of my ending.  *sighs*

Oh yeah..the pic.  I found this on someones deviantArt account and used it as 'inspiration'.  Change it to Tora with tiger stripes and you've got him in the man-tiger form:

Cool, huh?
