So I am on the email list of the Equiery - a horse magazine - this just came to my email account.
Proposals to restrict or eliminated horseback riding at .....
The Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking public comments on three alternative proposals that will affect riding at blah blah blah for the the next fifteen years. One alternative would eliminate horseback riding. The other would require use of a HORSE DIAPER or dismounting and removing manure from the trail. It also prohibits trotting and cantering.
It is bad enough that they are prohibiting trotting and cantering which leaves ONLY WALKING. That is unless you have a Paso Fino and can ride with a four beat lateral gait. What about a Standardbred that paces? A Tennessee Walking Horse might work - they have a running walk. Or some horses get excited and jig. You know Dragons? That TB OMG, I NEED TO RUN. Will there be tickets issued for jigging horses? Will the horse police be able to determine a Paso Fino's gait from a Walking Horse. But most of all...

I've been out of riding for a bit so I could be way out of the loop but is there such a thing as horse diapers? Do you need to carry horse wipies to wipe the horse's ass after you use the horse diapers? Do they absorb only poop or do they work for pee too. Are there "horse diaper" stations where you can diaper your horse in privacy...'cause dude, that seems like something most folks don't want to have to see.
