Lost in Pasig... and a dog

Sep 21, 2007 13:10

I went to Pasig proper to get the book that was sent to me by someone I met in a book exchange group. My uncle and Den told me it behind the City Hall, just in front of the market.

Ok, no problem. I know that area, and since I had successful taken the PUJ to Pasig proper before, I was feeling confident. However, the jeep I rode wasn't going the full route, so I had to ride another jeep. No problem.

When I paid the fare, the man asked "San to?" I said, "Isa po, palengke." He gave me my change, then I sat back to take in the sights (Pasig has a lot of old houses, much like the ones you see in the province).

When we arrived near the church, I didn't go down because I thought the jeep would be going around and stop near the market. I was feeling calm until I realized that the jeep was going further away rather than near the market. So I got down and rode a jeep back. This time, I alighted too early and ended up having to walk to the market (which was rather far from the church).

To cut the story short, I got my package, paid Php35 for it (handling or something, I think), and went to work. I was planning to take a jeep to Shaw, ride the MRT then LRT. But there was an FX to Quiapo, and I decided to take the adventure of riding it, even though I didn't know where it was going to pass. I just hoped I'd get to a place where everything would be familiar and I'd reach Legarda or Mendiola at the very least.

Once in a while I'd get an attack of heebie-jeebies whenever the driver would make a turn to a place that is new to me. I was happy when I saw the LRT Legarda station, but began to panic when he turned to another street. Oh well, he ended up passing the Mercury Drug along Legarda so I'm still ok. I arrived at the office a few minutes before 10 AM, but with the elevator non-functional, it took me a good five minutes to get to our room. Exercise to the max.

Big dog
Someone from the K9 group was walking around the office. I took a peek when the dog and man passed. The dog peered through the slightly open door, and the man let him go inside. Had some pictures taken while playing with him. The dog's 4 years old, had his complete shots and is very clean. :)

He seemed very excited to see us, unable to stay still.
He snuggled up to me as I was patting his head.

They stayed for a few minutes, then went out again to continue their work.
