I went to Jenny's with Whitney today to pick up the Chinese style dress Jenny had made for me. It came out really, really nice. It's blue with silver flowers, and I'll have pictures to put up when Jenny sends them to me.
The weather was really, really nice. After an entire week of bitter cold, we had this one day that was sunny and warm, a little hot, actually, and with a nice breeze. After getting the dress Whitney and I helped out at Jenny's herb shop. We gave out free samples and tried to get people to buy these little rice cookie things that are mega delicious. Every Chinese New Year there is a two week street sale on Dihua Street, and there's always a buncha people there. Everything is decorated for Chinese New Year and you can go around trying all sort of different herbs and foods. It SO much fun! My camera was dead so I didn't take pictures, but I will when I go next. I was wearing my new dress, so as we were walking around eating Whitney was always reminding me "Don't spill on the dress!" or "Be careful when you're eating!" It was like her mission to make sure I was eating neatly, lol.
Afterwards we walked through the underground mall all the way to Taipei Main Station. We looked for jackets that would work for my Lithuania cosplay. We found several that could work, if they were green! All the colors they had were brown and tan. We even found one that was PERFECT in every way except for the color, and the price! It was close to 4000 NT, which is about $120 and just about an entire month's allowance! There is still another whole section of that mall I haven't explored yet, though, so I haven't given up hope just yet. Lithuania!cosplay will happen! I shall not give up!
FYI: my sewing idea has died. I fond a pattern online but I have no way to print it. Trying to go on with it would be much more trouble than it is worth. :\
