SAbrina stood in the Owlery without dinner. She didn't understand why she had doubts at all. Noreen was prone to exageration and gossip. Yet she still felt nervous. She just had to know. Biting on her lower lip gently she looked out the window, the sun was setting on the horizon illuminating the sky with brilliant oranges and yellows. Nervously she fiddled with the silver broomstick earings awaiting her boyfriends arrival.
Remus climbed the tower to the Owlery silently, and smiled when he saw Sabrina. He felt a surge of guilt in the pit of his stomach, but had decided that the incident with Snape had been beyond his control, and thus left him blameless. The golden sunset light gave Sabrina's hair a sort of halo, and she seemed to glow.
"Hi," she managed, scratching her arm lightly. Just breathe she told herself. Glancing out the window for a moment she looked back to Remus; Just do it, or you never will she told herself.
"Have you been with anyone else since we've been dating?"
Remus blinked. That was... the last thing he expected. "Sabrina, I--"
How does one tell one's girlfriend that slimy Severus Snape is a better kisser, and quiet Regulus Black a better conversationalist? Remus felt like a smear of mud on the bottom of someone's shoe.
Sabrina closed her eyes. He didn't answer. He didn't flat out object. Noreen was right. Noreen was right. She felt her heart drop and felt faint. He had cheated on her. She needed to hear it. She needed to hear him say the words.
"Tell me the truth." she whispered; her eyes still shut.
My, we're demanding tonight, aren't we? I'd be glad to meet you-- I'll see you shortly.
Yours,
Remus
