Tasha is much improved. :D In fact, Dr. Tammy told me last night that she's extremely pleased with her progress and that she should be able to walk without the sling within about a week. She'll be on the anti-inflammatories for about a month, but that's okay; drugs = good, surgery = bad. :P
As an added bonus, smart puppy dog that Tashie is, she has figured out that if she walks slowly, she doesn't wobble as much and her feet don't slide out from under her. You have NO IDEA (of course you don't - you don't know her :P) how much of a feat this is. Tasha does everything at full-speed-ahead. Everything. Our neighbor boys used to call her Tigger, 'cause Tiggers bounce. They also asked me, when we took Tashie in to their mom to have her spayed, if we were taking her in to "have some of her bounce taken out." Heh.
On a related note, since surgery isn't in the immediate future, I can afford to go to the BSG con as planned. Woo HOO! I get to meet iynx in person! I get to meet mashull1971 in person! I get to meet carolelombard in person! *twirls*
themonkeycabal posted some more tunes for me that are very nearly as faboo as the first one from Trevor Lissauer and the Glass Plastiks. LOVE that lead singer's voice. :D
Last but not least, if you'd like to indulge yourself in a rollicking good read, check out themanipulator's BSG epic, Krenzik's War. I'm linking you to the first chapter, but you're all intelligent people, so I'm sure you can figure out how to get to subsequent chapters from there. This fic could have been a result of the Common People Challenge a while back, but it isn't. It follows OC Jay Krenzik through the significant events of S1, all the way through to Kobol's Last Gleaming 2. It lacks polish, but who cares? The characters and the story itself are too compelling not to read. Mani is working on Krenzik's War II to follow these same characters through S2 (which is why I really got involved in reading this -- he's asked me to beta for him and I had to get caught up in order to do it), and there is also a long fic written with a friend that goes through the very beginning of s2 that follows directly on the heels of Krenzik's War - Shadows and Reflections.
