1. For
meinnim, Star Trek Reboot, Kirk
Pike’s challenge echoed in Jim’s head. Yes, Lieutenant George Kirk had saved hundreds of lives; he was a genuine hero, something his youngest son decidedly was not. And didn’t heroes usually die being heroes? Just like his dad?
This bar and others like it were everyday things for Jim. Was this what he wanted? To live and die in a backwater, lurching from one bar fight to the next? He swiped at the blood on his chin, looked at the dull red smear on his thumb, then pushed up from the table.
He wasn’t ready to roll over and die.
2. For
meinnim, Star Trek Reboot, McCoy
McCoy sat in the tiny, windowless room, holding his head between his hands. “What in the name of whatever deity or omnipotent being laughing at my expense was I thinking?” he asked, his voice low. “Starfleet? Really?” No one answered. No surprise, not unless deities or omnipotent beings actually existed and there was not one speck of evidence to support that. Besides, he was a doctor, not a theologian.
Someone knocked at the door. “Sir? You’ll have to take a seat.”
Without changing his position on the head by a fraction of an inch, he advised, “I have a seat.”
3. For
meinnim, Stargate Atlantis, Rodney McKay
The caterpede (named by Sheppard, a marriage of caterpillar and millipede) flowed serenely across Rodney’s laptop screen, myriad legs rippling like the sheets his mother would hang out to dry in the summer breeze. He’d hated having clean sheets in summer. They made his eyes itch.
An impediment to his view, Rodney carefully picked the caterpede from his screen, intending to kill it, but it seemed so trusting, and it really was a beautiful creature, all green-blue-purple and every shade between.
Sighing, Rodney gently carried it from the tent to a bush that should be perfect for the little guy.
Enjoy! And thank you for bidding on me. These were fun. :D
