This episode was purely amazing, but kind of emotionally draining if you know what I'm saying. I loved how it was played out but some scenes were just painful to watch (the Helo and Boomer sex stuff while Athena was hidden semi-unconscious in the bathroom stall, for one).
I guess when they mean the final episodes are gonna hurt, they really mean it.
Re: people dissing Helo even more than they already are is just kinda bullshit, on their end anyway. I mean yes it was horrible what happened but HELO CANNOT KNOW! He is not a Cylon, and that is one of the fundamentally challenging and perhaps dangerous thing about being in love with a Cylon, there are many copies and humans don't have that ability to tell one copy from the other. Athena thought that Boomer was just another Eight until she finally got a good look at her, but by then it was too late. I can understand the frustration about having the one you love sleeping with another, but it's more difficult concerning Cylons especially if the other Cylon is actually playing with that particular role, like Boomer was doing. Which I'm sure she didn't anticipate but what she did, and how she went about it was absolutely cold.
I feel so bad for Tyrol. I mean, he wanted to believe her. He wanted things to be how they were before, and it was touching with the projection of their dreamhouse and their dreamlife and everything they had planned together. But yeah, Roslin did warn him, and while he was all mentally trying to push that aside that blinded him from what Boomer was planning on doing. He never expected her to do what she did, and it crushed him as it crushed all of us. I mean, his expression when learning that she took Hera. My God. Poor Tyrol
To your questions, I don't think Laura's dead. I think because of her cancer and that she seemed very weak in the beginning of the episode suggested that, after realizing of the events that were happening at that moment, she couldn't handle it and she fainted. But she's not okay, that's for sure.
Hotdog I believe is okay, since I'm sure he zoomed his viper away just as the explosion started happening.
My God. BSG. I'm still a wreck from last night. ;__;
Well, Athena played the role of Boomer back in Season 1. That's how Hera was conceived. If Helo could forgive her for those lies, hopefully she can forgive him for the lesser offense of being fooled again. Although short-term, she's totally justified in being deeply pissed. I just hope she doesn't mimic his Season 1 actions so closely that she shoots him!
But you're right. Humans can't know, not without some physical mark as a clue. Old!Athena had a bullet wound and a C-section scar. New Athena doesn't. That which allowed her to come back to him after he killed her has now come back to haunt them. But if there are going to be Cylons on Galactica long-term, they SERIOUSLY need to consider getting tattoos of their names for identification purposes.
