SCC fic rec
After watching last night's Sarah Connor Chronicles over lunch, I wanted to read some fic. Usually I pick shorter pieces so I can read a few of them (and clear them out of the "fic that I must read" category of my memories - over 400 strong OMG!), but this time I went with a longer fic (about 7,500 words) that was all about Cameron following the events of 2x01 (Samson and Delilah). And it was oh so very worth the time.
A Jack Knifed Juggernaut (I am born again) by arenotvalid is a thing of beauty. Cameron's somewhat broken point of view and a stilted style are perfect for this piece, which really gets inside Cameron's head and leaves you with a believable understanding of how she works (or doesn't) and how very different she is from humans and even from other terminators. Not like a real girl at all, but something that is unique in the universe, even though that isn't what she was meant to be when she was created.
It's an amazing fic and I want more. There's even a significant bit of BSG in it, but it's not at all a crossover. You should go read it and leave the author a little love. Yes.
