stupid storms *grr*

So I was happily vidding yesterday (SCC, Shirley Manson's Samson & Delilah, shut up) when the remains of Hurricane Ike came plowing through. Luckily, we started having power fluctuations early enough - and all of our important stuff is on big UPSs - that I was able to save everything and shut down before the power went out. *hugs* I hope it gets better soon!

I know how you feel about the huge old trees. We have a bunch of old ones in our yard (our house is over 100 years old) too and in the last few years many trees in the neighbourhood have been felled by high winds. I hope no damage happens to you and yours.

Your apple trees sound much more cooperative than mine. I have 2 and only 1 apple!

Eek. Glad no one was hurt.

Well, maybe the cookout would end up being a lot of fun? Then it's dried goods for breakfast lunch and dinner (and I don't envy you).

I live in Texas. Folks here really got the worst of it, but we're lucky that my home town only got sideswiped and no real damage or power loss.

Ack! I will hope your power comes back on very soon!

We, too are surrounded by big tall trees. The first year we lived in our house, a snow and ice storm blew in that knocked out power for three days - if you knew our temperate climate, you would understand how shocking and unusual this is - the ice coating the branches of our trees made them so heavy, we joked about our yard becoming a war zone. So many branches cracked and fell, the dog was afraid to go outside and do her business.

Oh, no! I hope you get power back soon!

I think the trees are less likely to fall just for wind than they would have been if it was raining allot.
