Yes, it's that time again. Sweet Charity is again auctioning off the amazing talents of fandom-at-large for the benefit of RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network).*

Last time we did this for RAINN, we raised around $11,000** during the two weeks bidding was open. So far, bidding has only been open for five days and we've already raised $6,969.59! There are over 200 of us this time, offering a variety of items both fandom and non: fics, vids, icons, layouts, cookies, socks (yes, socks, of the hand-knit variety), bound and autographed copies of popular fanfic novels and series, original artworks in watercolor or pencil or other media, photographs, hand-made jewelry, scarves, mittens, a hand-made "Jayne" hat from Firefly, a pint-sized jar of homemade chai starter mix, tarot readings, vid or fic commentary, fic beta, a set of 25 handmade runestones, conversion of up to 250,000 words of fic (not necessarily all the same fic) into PDF format, funny/snarky episode recaps of various fandoms, design and printing of a custom-made fandom poster, crib- or wallhanging-size quilts... All this and MORE, baby!

Come over and check it out. And even if you can't donate anything right now, you could always talk up a Ho or two in SC's new The Grande Pimp. Just find a Ho you recognize and sing their talents in a paragraph or two that anyone can cut and paste into an entry in their LJ or on another forum or wherever.

I, erm, should probably get back to work now. Later!

*The irony is not lost on me that we're raising money for incest victims, among others, by, well, writing fic about Wincest and Petrellicest. :P

**RAINN actually doubled our donation, so even though we raised $11k ourselves, the charity doubled it to $22k by whatever magic it is that they used. Don Doll, erm, I mean halcyon_shift could 'splain it, if you want.

ETA: D'oh! Almost forgot. Bidding is open until September 22. *headdesk*

charity, begging, sweet charity, shameless begging, fandom
