BSG fic rec
I meant to do this days ago, but other things intervened. *headdesk* Anyway...
There is just so much to love about summer_smile’s All This Land. So much.
All This Land is a missing-year fic (of which we have all too few) that focuses on Racetrack and her feelings for Helo and it gives us a lovely bit of backstory for dear, prickly, squishy-inside Maggie. It makes you ache for Maggie, but also for Helo, torn between Maggie and Sharon, unseen in this fic, but all the more powerful a presence for that absence. Nothing is brushed under the rug; this isn’t really a “love triangle,” in spite of the fact that it deals with three people caught in an unplanned and unasked for situation. There’s never any doubt as to how it will end, but the journey to that destination is one of my favorite BSG fics.
Go and read and leave some love, because, regardless of what she writes, summer_smile needs to be encouraged to write more. :D
