don't take this incorrectly, brilliantly written, awesome story, etc. And I did enjoy it, but...

No. Bruce crosses that line, we lose him to the night. He WOULD cross it, I think, for any one of his boys, but in saving them would lose himself. And as someone once said 'to your own self be true'.

Y'know what else? I don't think Jason even REALLY wants him to cross the line. He just wants Bruce to love him...

Thing is, you're both right! It's got many levels of right, and a whole lot of *wrong*, too. No way Bruce should cross that line, but this is what canon is actually doing! The whole "Batman and the Outsiders/Five of a Kind" story line has Bruce heading down that path in full force. O_o As good as it is that he's finally seeing that shades of gray *do* sometime exist, it seems like he suddenly doesn't even care about crossing into that territory. The only good thing he's done is keep his boys *out* of it, though really, if he's looking for morally gray people, Jason *would* be a perfect choice.

And no, Jason doesn't really want him to cross the line. I'm toying with writing a third part of this, where the initial shock wears off and Jay sees that Bruce is going too far, thus proving his own mistakes in crossing the line... But yeah, he *does* want Bruce to love him, and to him, being on the inside is as probably as good as it gets.

It's ok to be sad. I am, too, with the way they've all been handled.

Thank you so much!!!!! O_O I didn't even really think of it until I went to write something for you. :p Jason really is the best man for this job, and gods, I wish Bats would take the new Outsiders to take care of Luthor and Joker's nasty group.

I'm so glad we get the same vibe from Jay. ^_^ He tries so hard to be cocky and snarky, but all that does is confirm how much love he needs, how fragile he and hurting he is on the inside. *hugs him tight*

Isn't Alfred WIN? ^_^ I loved giving Jay a weakness for sweet coffee and cookies, and having Alfred play right to those guilty pleasures. :p

I keep thinking about what Dick will do when he finds out Jay is a part of the team. He might snap! O_O *huggles him* It's gonna take a lot to convince him that Bruce is only doing it to protect him.
