Starfleet Meme
As we're heading into the final day of the Porn Battle, and I'm making that last push to get prompts written (as many fandoms and pairings as I can!), I thought I'd post a meme I've been thinking about starting to keep the creative juices flowing.
If you were a Starfleet officer or crewman, what would your job or specialty be? Depending on the era, just about anything goes! Where would you like to serve? What rank would be your end-goal? This is YOU, not a character, so be honest!
If I were a Starfleet officer, I'd be a Xeno- or Exobiologist. I've always loved biology, loved learning about new aspects of the science, and with a BS in bio already, I'd feel it was time to move on to studying life from other worlds. I'd probably go on to specialize in comparative evolution and anatomy/physiology. Serving aboard a starship would be my first choice (just about any would do, but of course, the Enterprise would be the dream gig), but I'd be happy to be stationed on a colony or research outpost for a while. I figure I'd probably spend a good while as part of the larger Exobiology department, maybe second or third in line to the senior officer position, Lieutenant for a long time before getting to Lt. Commander, and Commander much later in my career, assuming I live that long. :p Penning books on comparative xeno-evolution would definitely round out my time in the Fleet.
The nature of the work can be pretty dangerous, of course, what with all the salt vampires and space amoebas and Hortas and highly acidic fruit, and if it killed me, I'd at least go out doing what I love. But! There's always the off chance of discovering tribbles or sex pollen and getting to STUDY IT, and who could say no to that? ^_~
