Poor Bruce, going out of his mind with worry, but slowly getting stronger physically while going a little crazy mentally.
Clark taming the horses! Aww, that's so sweet. :) Wally and Bart! LOL!
Since it's only been a year, they still have hope. Wonder if they'll feel that way in two, three, four years or more.
Clark is right. They have changed. Maybe they'll never be Superman and Batman again, but they'll always have each other.

I really couldn't stand to leave Bruce all physically broken, of course. :p And I'd originally planned to have the horses be a male/female pair, but the muse took over and decided they were both boys. XD
It's gonna get harder for the boys to deal as time goes on (a lot harder), and there will be even more change, but yes, they *will* have each other to lean on. :)
Thanks again!!

What Clark said was so true. They really only know how to depend on each other now, but they're being optimistic.
I can't wait for more... More soon?

It's definitely going to be a shock to them both when they get back to Earth.
If I can get the muses to cooperate, it won't be too long before I have another chapter ready. :)
Thanks so much!

Great chapter! I expected a little more H/C but I'm glad they are back together and realizing how much they mean to each other. I can't wait for more!

Like I said, I had a lot of trouble with this one. I'm not sure why, but it was like pulling teeth to get it anywhere near where I wanted it to be. But don't worry, there'll be plenty of H/C in further chapters. ^_~
Thanks!!

I'm so glad you got your muse back for this (Props to Bradygirl_12 for helping)
There growing despondency on each other is so tangible. Lovely, and I really can't wait for more!

The boys really couldn't survive without each other at this point, I'm afraid. *hugs them*
More soonish, if I can manage it! :)

Consider this a placeholder comment. I want to read it now but I have to watch Obama!

And of course, Obama trumps fic any day. :) I'm off to watch his speech soon, too.

Kitty graveyard! It's so sad. But really true about the farm thing. The more life you have around you, the more death too, i guess.
You know, I always thought that when they got back it would be Bruce that would have the harder time adjusting. But now that you mention it, I think it would be hard for Clark to go back to being Superman. Bruce's whole life is devoted to Batman, it's always been part of him. But Superman was something Clark acquired when he got his powers. It doesn't come as naturally to him, so he'd have to work harder to get it back.
Also, I just love it when Bruce is the one pepping Clark up.
Rats, now I'm going to be checking this every five minutes and will fail out of college and have to live in a cardboard box. But it is so worth it. :)

Ahem!
I was thinking the same thing, before I really got into the meat and potatoes of this story. But Clark being depowered for so long, he's bound to unlearn how to use them effectively. There's a lot to be said for muscle memory, but the lack of his enhanced senses is going to be a detriment for him when they eventually get back. He'll be overwhelmed, for sure. *pets him gently*
I can't promise another chapter in the next few days, but soon. :)
Thanks so much!!! ^_^
