Turkey Day, a day of giving thanks. As an editorial in the Guardian accurately calls it, few in America today have much to be thankful for. My thoughts too are weighted down by the travesty of justice inflicted on the grieving people of Ferguson. What have they to be thankful about ( Read more... )

That is a wonderful list.

I am so disgusted with politics, greed, and corporate piracy that the spouse and I have talked about getting out of here. (Only with our debt load, how far could we get, sigh)

The decision to up-stakes and move to another country is not one a family or individual takes lightly. The older you get the more challenging that process becomes. I should know, I've changed countries 4 times.

However at the risk of sounding the bugle call; Estonia just placed 20th on a list of the world's best places to grow old. Finland was 16th. I'm sort of just joking.

Thank you for the praise. Hope your Thanksgiving is a happy one, surrounded by family and friends.

I would go in a minute, if I didn't have family tugging at my heart. I mean it. I've fallen in love with Estonia from this distance.

You'll just have to come and visit. When Helsinki gets the 2017 World Con, maybe we can organise a side trip down here.

Maybe by then I can actually afford to get over there--and yes, once there, it would be so much easier to get around. I also intend to see Prague, if I can, and all those beautiful eastern cities that were shut behind the iron curtain to me, in the seventies.

There are reasonably priced flights to Prague and Budapest from Tallinn or Helsinki, or if you have time, driving is easy now on very good roads, and fast with all the borders open.

Start saving your pennies - and dollars. We'll have to plan something special for when you come.
