Chapter 9: Kidnapping

Even Aiba agreed on staying with Sho - okay, it wasn’t that hard to him to agree on - and not going out; even Sho promised him it wasn’t a confinement or punishment, and that he’ll always be there if he wants to go out or something… In the end it turned out to be not this easy…
After all Sho had his own work and somehow he seemed really busy suddenly. Aiba guessed it might be because he refused to work the other day. But whatever was the reason behind it, the truth was that Sho had to work and Aiba had nothing to do…
At first Aiba didn’t mind it that much, he spent the day with watching Sho how he does his job and it was fun. He looked cool and the boy was happy he could be around him. But it turned out not to be so fun after the second day in a row so he tried to talk with him.
“Nee, Sho-san…!”
Aiba was sitting on a box, kicking the ground every now and then out of boredom while Sho was half disappeared in a boat and spent the past half an hour with trying to find out what was wrong with its engine. The older man just hummed something as an answer but still focused his attention to his work though Aiba was calling him.
“Why did you choose repairing ships?” he asked looking at the older man when he climbed out of the boat.
“Cause I had to do something when we came here with Kazu and Ohno-kun and this was the only thing I could do” Sho shrugged uninterested while he gathered some tools from the table beside Aiba then went back to the boat without sparing a look, let alone a kiss to Aiba.
“But you like it, don’t you?” Aiba pushed the ‘conversation’ further. “Otherwise you wouldn’t do it still now, right?... I guess I wouldn’t be able to do something so long if I don’t like it… Yeah, I think that must be pretty hard… when you forced to do something you don’t like…” Aiba babbled about non-senses, not sensing that Sho wasn’t paying attention, rather…
“Couldn’t you just shut up for a minute?” Sho snapped at him and Aiba immediately shut his mouth.
The younger boy looked at Sho frightened and he looked back at him angrily, though his eyes softened immediately when he saw Aiba’s scared face. Dropping the tools from his hand to the floor he walked to him.
“Gomen, baby…” he said cupping Aiba’s cheeks with his oily hand and kissed his forehead. “I didn’t mean to snap at you… I’m just angry cause I don’t get what’s wrong with this wreck and I took it out on you… Gomen…” he said.
“It’s okay” Aiba shook his head while Sho showered small kisses on his face as an apology.
The boy giggled a bit at this.
“Stop it, Sho-san…!” he pushed the older man away. “You dirtied me…” he pouted cutely and rubbed his cheeks where Sho’s oily handprint was seen.
Sho laughed at him.
“Well, I don’t mind if you’re dirty like me…” he said wrapping his arms around Aiba - though this time he paid attention to not touch his clothes - and kissed the crook of his neck.
Aiba giggled more and wriggled a bit till he could slide down from the boy and out of Sho’s arms.
“You should work…” he said when Sho looked at him offended. “And I’m sorry for bothering your work…” he added with a smile.
Sho just shrugged it off.
“Hey, Masaki! Later we can go out when I’m finished with this…” Sho suggested smiling at the boy.
Aiba nodded happily.
“But now just do your job… I go up and make some lunch to us!” he announced then blew a kiss to Sho and skipped out on the backdoor to Sho’s apartment.
As soon as he was out of Sho’s sight, the smile disappeared from his lips and his shoulders fell. He understood that Sho has his work but he still wanted to spend more time with him…
“It can’t be helped for now, right?” he sighed and walked into the small apartment…

In the end Sho couldn’t finish the boat’s repairing in time so there was no outing for them that day, or the day after… Aiba did his best to hide it but now that he was in custody and could do nothing, he started to feel lonely and useless. And he started to feel sick of always being inside of the smelly assembly shop…
“Nee, Sho-san! Will it take long?” he asked, hoping if Sho finished they can go out finally.
“Not so long hopefully…” the older man muttered focusing on his work.
“Can I help you?” Aiba asked enthusiastically. “Then you can finish faster and we can go out after it!”
Sho frowned at him at the suggestion, weighing it would help or not. But then, Aiba looked at him with those hopeful puppy-eyes… Sho sighed.
“Okay. Close back those panels…” he told him handing a screwdriver to the boy; after all it was something that even a kindergartener can do without problem…
“Hai!” Aiba said happily.
He took the screwdriver and crawled down to close back the panels at the bottom. Sho watched him over for a while to be sure he didn’t mess up anything then turned back to his own work… Yet it didn’t take long and Aiba’s surprised, panicked yelp was heard together with some splashing noises.
“What’s wrong, Masaki?” Sho asked worried and run to the boy but he froze in track when he saw the scene:
Only God knows what Aiba did but something must have broken in the boat and now oil was splashing out non-stop dirtying the floor, the boat and the boy himself.
“What the hell did you do?” Sho shouted at Aiba angrily. He was almost finished with this but now…
“I… I… didn’t do anything… I just… did as you told…” Aiba stuttered as he reached out his hand to somehow try to fix whatever the problem was.
“Don’t you dare touch it!” Sho shouted at him again and grabbing Aiba by his shoulder he pushed him away. “Don’t touch anything, just get out of here!”
Aiba stumbled back after Sho pushed him away. His lips trembled and his eyes filled with tears. He really, really didn’t want to cause trouble… He just wanted to help so they can have some time together… Aiba wanted to tell this to Sho but the older man wasn’t even caring about his presence; all he cared right now to find out what went wrong and fix it as soon as possible before the whole shop turns into a pool of oil…
He didn’t even notice when Aiba ran out of the shop…

Aiba crouched down at the end of the dark alley next to shop, hiding his oil and tear stained face into his knees. Sho never shouted at him like this since they… since they got together…
Suddenly footsteps sounded and Aiba quickly wiped his face. He hoped it was Sho and he didn’t want the older man to see him crying. He stood up and turned toward the approaching steps. But it wasn’t Sho…
“Matsumoto-san…” he whispered scared.
“Do you get finally that you don’t belong here?” Jun asked stopping a few meters from the boy. “They didn’t care about you… Come back home with me…” he said raising his hand out to him.
Somehow Aiba got angry hearing this.
“What do you know about them? What do you know about me? Nothing!” he shouted at him. “Don’t tell this shit to me! You don’t care about me either so you have no tight to tell anything!”
“Don’t tell this, Masa-chan!” Jun said suspiciously gently. “I do care about you. Otherwise I wouldn’t come all the way here to find you… Did you know your father wanted to send the police after you? I had to beg him not to do so, not treat you as a criminal!” Jun convinced him.
“I don’t believe you! You’re lying!” Aiba shook his head and covered his ears with his hands. “You care only about yourself and your reputation! Go away and leave me alone!” Aiba shouted and turned his back to Jun as he started crying again.
But it turned out to be a wrong decision…
Before he could realize it a strong smelling cloth was pressed onto his nose and mouth, then it took only mare seconds till the world turned black around him as he lost his consciousness…
“I’m sorry, Masaki, but you left no other choice to me…”
