Primary Election

Mar 21, 2006 18:06

Yeah, today was primary election day. What a shame I had to choose the least offensive of the candidates. My friend Rico used to say, "If God wanted us to vote, She would be giving us candidates!" But he lived in my building, and we went voting together for many years, then went out for cottage cheese and raisin toast to recover from the excitement. That's what I forgot to do today! The responsibility of voting was pounded into my head as a child, and no matter how rotten the candidates, I am compelled to go and vote.

I have been hobbying with rubber stamps of late, which sounds like a junior high school hobby, but it gives me comfort and makes pretty things. My friend who is also named Stephanie got me involved in it, and we spend an afternoon each week playing at it. (She has a small press pot for making espresso that's looking for a new home, and I will be giving it a new home as of tomorrow. Amazing, isn't it, how little it takes to make me happy? A little tiny cup of espresso really jump starts your morning, but who wants to go out to a coffeehouse in winter? I look forward to morning espresso occasionally.

Let's see, we have also had the Vernal Equinox, so Spring is theoretically upon us. It was cold today. Spring may come in the next few weeks, but it doesn't get warm until May in Chicago.

Oh, and Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt now comes in Orange Mango flavor, and it's good. Nag your dairy guy to stock it, then buy it and try it.

Jelly Belly now makes im imtation m&m candies, with the same kind of flavored shells their Jelly Bellies have. It's amazing how good the Cappuccino and Chocolate/Orange flavors blend to taste like the Starbux Mocha Valencia. We sent some to a friend who is a Mocha Valencia junkie, and she concurs. Life is good. All the time.
