Notes from a Long Way Off

Good Morning. I am pleased to report that my new carpeting is finally installed. It's white and beautiful and luxurious. I love it. Next will come the new tile in the front hall and then in the kitchen. I feel likethe queen of sheba, and no, the canary isn't over the new carpeting, but rather has taken up residence in the kitchen, He still sings, and is always delighted to see me. He is a good pet. I highly recommend canary pets.

Some of my friends are going to teach my old records to be CD's, and I will get to hear Pete Seeger and Steve Goodman again, after years. I'm excited about this.

Did I mention that I now weigh 235 pounds? I am proud to say I keep losing, albeit slowly. 1.6 pounds a week is slower than I was losing before, but I am managing foods better, though some solid foods are a challenge. I wonder if discovering I can eat graham crackers has something to so with the slow down in loss? I eat small portions, but I do eat them.

I still haven't heard from my daughter since she visited. I think perhaps she decided I am too weird to want to know, but it could just be that she has no time. And the important part is that I saw her. Zen.

The Hunan restaurant we took her to when she was here has closed, I am sad to say. Since the family needed the owners to participate in their import/export business. Their friendship and food have been a staple of my life for twenty years. I shall miss them deeply.

I have a fracture in one of my ankle bones, which Dr. Foot Doctor has taped up thoroughly and wants to see again on the 22nd of November. It's nice to know I wasn't having imaginary pain, and the bandage feels really good.

No Windycon for me, but Capricon in Spring. Got to get all settled fromthe carpet change. Everything had to move, and the Kensoha Gamers provided moving support, for which I give thanks. The trees aren't gone, but the leaves are falling, and the trees are bare. It's Autumnal, and winter is on the way. I am content, despite the fibromyalgia flare up.
