Friday, the 13th of Nov.
I always look forward to the weekend! The work day promised to be straightforward, but I guess the day decided toward mischief, as it's traditionally wont to do. The things at work we're waiting on didn't arrive from another dept. So maybe it'll happen next week. We had another surprise (due to lack of communication, which is pretty much managers not doing their job) with someone showing up with items for us to print on, a job we first became aware of when she walked in the door with the parts. And then a person high up in sales (and a personal friend of one of the owners) changed his mind on something he had previously approved of. He injects a lot of chaos into our company.
Still, none of these things upended me. Chaos is to be expected in the world and in the lives of ppl in it. I can't change that. What I do have is this moment and the ability to order my space. I can also call others to greater order, lead them somewhat, but they have to take the steps toward it. I follow some who're in the film industry on my twitter and received this retweeted mssg some time ago. It reads: "You will be constantly faced with inefficiency and ineptitude. How you deal with it will shape you and your career." Very true words. How I deal with it...
