I watched the pilot the night it came out and was mostly, cautiously, pleased. Wasn't perfect, but there were some really excellent moments and I was really excited.
Watched the second episode and... stopped for a bit. The second ep was rough. Like, ouch. There were some redeeming moments, and some kind of redeeming character stuff, but the plot was rather predictable and the humor and dialogues just felt... off. I think maybe it was trying too hard? Punch lines that would have been funny, weren't. The jokes needed to be established sooner, or differently. And Fury's cameo felt more than a little wasted there. So I didn't watch for a week or two after.
Started again tonight, just the third, because I Do have things to do tomorrow, but I'd tentatively like to say it was and improvement over the previous ep. There were still a few off-kilter moments ("it's what he would have wanted." No it really isn't. He definitely told us what he would have wanted and it definitely wasn't what happened, and what was that "too dangerous but sheild won't destroy it" crap? Was not the entire point of the previous episode that SHEILD would and regularly does destroy this crap? Sorry...). But over all, it was better. I am once more cautiously optimistic... next ep tomorrow, maybe.
G'night.
