FIFA U-20 World Cup at Frank Clair Stadium
While I didn't get a chance to visit with a friend who was in town for the day this afternoon, I did have a great time this evening. Met up with mathowny and her friend Steph at the Oak and then we were off to Frank Clair Stadium for the World Cup!
FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007
It's some quality soccer and some good good times. First match was Korea vs Panama, and it was pretty good. According to the stats it was pretty even, and I'd say that's fair, actually. Between games we wandered around the stadium a bit and I had a slice of pizza and a coke costing me almost as much as my damn ticket.
Even during that game the Argentinian fans were getting crazy fun, and the break between games it just built and built. Just in time for the game clumsy_iz and mr_rhodes joined us and we told them that all the crazy singing and drumming had been going on for about a half hour at that point. The fans were a lot of fun, it was a really great time, and I'm so glad that we went. I'll write more about it later, but suffice it to say that it was a great game and Argentina really has something to cheer about because they totally dominated the play.
Hope things come together for tomorrow... :s For now, I'm totally physically exhausted so it's time to head to bed. If only I could get some of the Argentina cheering out of my head... !
