I had serious reservations about a fic with a Transgender-Sam...And honestly, I have no knowledge at all about the subject.(I had to look up what those abbreviations meant)... besides what li'l I knew? I could not conceive merging with the Winchester-world we know... But, I'll have to confess that you shifted my perceptions.
I adored how supportive Dean was through the entire thing, and that Sam supported him to become his own person..
I've always felt that much of Dean's 'shallow', 'cocky' and well 'stupidity'( for lack of a better word) are just a persona he hides under. In fact, I've got this personal-'canon' where he pretends to be thicker than he really is to give Sam more confidence in his abilities... But, i'm rambling-sorry.. to get back on track; I adore how you mentioned Dean's phobia of flying. Lots of fics have him doing something with planes but just skip over the canon detail that Dean absolutely hates flying... So, yeah; the fact that he enrolled in the Air-Force; but John re-appeared in the picture before his phobia could affect his prospects? I totally dig that! And his bottled up anger at John- the way we see it in the latter seasons, just that hint of his simmering dissent- not that he will act on it; but there nevertheless... wow. That was perfect. So, Thank you for sharing this. Learned some totally new things(at least abbreviations and their associated meanings) from this one. Thank you.
I thought I hashed out all the abbreviations, but then I realised I'd forgotten to write out FtM (Female-to-Male), which I fixed just now. Were there any others? I've been working on this fic so long, I've become a bit blind where it's concerned. Regardless, I'm beyond glad that you chose to give this a chance anyway, and that you liked it.
Dean is smart; of course he is. He's just smart in different areas from Sam. After all, how many people can rebuild a car from scratch and make it work? Then you just need to add some "artistic license" ;)
I read a bit into the Air Force and, I'm not sure, but I think you don't have to fly to be part of it, but I'm not sure.
I can't get over how much I really like your way of reading my story. It's kind of amazing to see how different people read different reasons/reactions to the same text.
Thank you for reading, and for leaving this lovely comment. =)
just one more- LGBT... but I liked that I had to look it up, you know... it would have messed with the story's flow if you had to explain it, 'coz the characters are in-the-loop. Anyway, thanks!
