Indiana Jones and The Lame Script That George Lucas Picked

So Dan, Celia, Vince and I watched the much anticipated and much hyped Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull".

Umm... It was ok. There are some parts of the movie that was pretty reminiscent of the trilogy and some parts that was just flat out cheesy. Despite some great action scenes and the interactions with the main cast, there's no way you can overlook how poor the script was. Character development was pretty lousy too, notably with Cate Blanchett as the villain and that damn Shia Lebeof, who turned out not to be his sidekick afterall. He's definitely not Short Round.

What really affected this movie is that it no longer had the same theme that the previous 3 movies had and instead it went the supernatural route. Keep in mind that this is the script that George Lucas wanted to do. Frank Darabont (director of "The Green Mile" and last year's "The Mist") submitted an earlier draft of the script that Steven Spielberg enjoyed but George didn't. That was a really bad call.

The theater was packed but the audience barely reacted to the movie. No one talked excitedly about the movie after it ended and it made me want to watch third movie even more.

Thank God for Senior Pricing.
