Thanks, everyone!

It's offical; I'm a Trainee!
I was accepted into the Police Academy. The interview itself was actually relatively painless; short and to the point anyway.
So now the real work begins:)
I start January 16th, at 7:15 am. Orientation is the 13th, at 7:30.
I am going to see more of the morning than I have in years...:D

You start academy the same day I do. Good luck!

(I know what you mean about seeing more of morning that you have in years. I'm the same way, lol.)

Was curious as to how your academy is going. (Yes, I remembered you starting the same day as me. :)

Mine's doing good - right now it's just lectures. We don't start in on the fun stuff until our third week in.

Thanks! It's been awfully busy, but it's also fun I think. I'm looking forward to Defensive tactics/officer saftey and survival.
Definately a lot of lectures so far, but this week looks to be getting into a little more of the fun stuff-and yes, it is now the third week(wow...!)
How are things going for you?

I've been busy, too - see how long it took me to reply ;)

I've been enjoying the academy, too. We started our physical/defensive tactics training last week - what a killing! We have an instructor who likes and wants to see us in as much pain as he can give us. Not uberly fun on that part.

We did some dry shooting today - start live firing next week. :D Firearms class is probably going to be my favorite.

We also started First Responder last week as well. Did CPR/AED today, which is all an overview for me - so it was kinda boring. I took CPR/AED and First Aid training a few months ago in October at the American Red Cross to get certified to help me obtain my security job, which I'm still working at - on weekends though, so I stay pretty busy between school and work. Not much free time at all.

This is our fourth week now. :) Which I know is the same for you since we started on the same day. :P

Yes...wow...you're definately in a slightly different order than I am! We're *just* now getting into some firearms...and we haven't even started cpr and that like yet!
Defensive tactics...I'm sorry your instructor is one of those types; mine is a very nice guy(so long as you're actually learning...if he decides to use you as an example you'll feel it for days LOL)
My pt instructors...*shudders* They're just scary....and its rather discouraging that it seems no matter what they do to us, they do it too-and we're dying, and they're barely breaking a sweat! Hah! Wooof...kudos to you for going through the Academy and working Security! The schedule I had with Security wouldn't have allowed it, and now, my academy schedule...I sudder to think about trying!
We're a quarter of the way through, now...how long is it for you?
Best of luck!
:D
