Surprises are FUN! :-D

So, this is the week of celebrations. Tuesday was Brian's birthday, Wednesday was Mom's, and today is Mom and Dad's anniversary. Originially, I had just planned to make the appropriate phone calls on each day, but when I called Brian on Tuesday, we ended up devising a plan to surprise Mom in Wichita on Wednesday night since they were planning to go out to eat. Well... Wednesday morning, I called mom.

I wished her a happy birthday and we got on the subject of them going to Wichita. Well, Dad was trying to ruin that. He had decided he didn't want to go anymore because he needed to take down more of the fence. Well, That made me unhappy. I called Robin, she said I should talk to Dad, and I called Brian, and he said I could call dad, so I did. I told dad that he was ruining my birthday surprise for mom. I scolded him and got him to change his mind. It actually worked out cuz it started raining at home and he used that as his excuse. Plus Brian took time to tear down more of the fence. So.. the plan was back in action.

I got on the road to Wichita a little late, but I did get Mom flowers. They beat me to Red Lobster, which was perfect actually. Brian left the table and called me and told me where they were, so I was able to go right in and walk up to the table. Mom didn't even see me walking up, so when I said "Happy Birthday, Mom!" She was taken by surprise. Dad had enough time to turn around and look at the expression on Mom's face. She was DEFINITELY surprised. Very happy that I was able to make it.

Brian was sooo afraid she was gonna figure it out. He put our name in for a table and said there was really 7, but he was saying 6 because the 7th person was a surprise. But then the waitress asked if they were still waiting for someone. Brian was like, "doh!" And said, uh no, we're not. They all ordered before I got there, but that was okay. Then, Brian said Dad kept looking towards the door. But, it all worked out and Mom was rightfully surprised. And happy about it too. I talked to Mom today and she had told Grandma alla bout my surprise and Grandma said that she deserved a good birthday surprise like that. So, all in all, it was a good day. I did do quite a bit of driving, but it was ok.

On another note, Jon emailed me and his family the other morning. He's been busy.. Guard duty, then a casualty kept the outgoing communication down. Hopefully he'll call soon. It's been a week and a half since we talked on the phone. But.. there is a light at the end of the tunnel... Just a couple of months left! Then I get to see my Jonathan again! I absolutely cannot wait. I miss him more than i can explain. And how appropriate, my music... He's not from NYC, but he's from NY! hehehe Cept, i don't have to make him mine-oh-mine, I already did that. And boy, do I miss him. Have I mentioned that before? hehehe Soon enough we'll be together again. I miss being able to hug him, I miss being able to hold him, to fall asleep next to him on the weekends. I miss holding his hand. I miss everything about him honestly. It won't be soon enough that I get to look into his gorgeous blue eyes and say "I love you," again. sheesh, I can still remember the day he left like it was yesterday. The hug goodbye, the kiss, him saying I love you and I'll see you in a year. It makes me cry to think about it. But then.. That's almost 9 months behind me now. Needless to say, I can't wait for him to come back. And by God, it needs to be sooner than later!

Okay.. I'm gonna go watch a movie or something. I rented a couple Bette Midler movies and Down with Love. Maybe I'll flip a coin.

Okay.. Ciao.
