"Sticky" posts?

Sep 09, 2006 07:30

I'm not sure if this is possible but I have a community in the tranquility II layout and I'm trying to get the thread with the questions for it to stay as the first thread of the community, i.e. to stay continually as the first post.

Is that possible, and/or is there coding for it? Or do I have to be a paid user?

All you should have to do is set the date on the post to sometime in the future. Like 2030 or something and it'll always be at the top.

At least, as far as I know.

this doesn't work in a community.

best thing to do is to have expressive's "sticky post" logic be copied to all of the layouts (and to do this, it would be best to put the logic into the core layer).
to enhance it, it could ake an optional entry URL (or just the itemid) and have the fake "sticky post" link to the actual entry.
that way, you could have the fake post on the front of the journal and let it actually have comments which will be attached to the actual entry.

i think that makes sense.

Okay, I'm sorry, but I don't really understand how to do that. Could you be a bit more specific? Or maybe take a look at my layer and let me know how to do that? It's 6762913 and it's public. Thanks so much.
